Successfully established the process parameters for making large diameter CVD coated SiC parts. The CVD SiC produced at the Centre has been characterized to determine the phase analysis as well as its thermal, mechanical and optical properties.

Aqueous gelcasting has been successfully adopted at the Centre and found to be one of the most effective routes for making near-net shape non-oxide ceramic parts with relatively high green strength.
