Development of inorganic fullerene (IF) like WS2
Joydip Joardar, S. Sudhakara Sarma, V. Mahender and Tata Narasinga Rao

Development of new commercially viable techniques for the bulk production of nanostructured inorganic fullerene (IF) like tungsten sulfide (WS2) is being pursued. Nano-IF-WS2 is the best known solid lubricant, which gives a very low coefficient of friction even under high load (~2,000 MPa).

Nanostructured W-C phases for fuel cell electrode
Joydip Joardar and Tata Narasinga Rao

WC based materials are widely used for various applications eg, cutting tools, wear resistant coatings, fuel cell electrodes, etc. New and inexpensive methods for the synthesis of nanostructured WC are being developed.
